Switching to 3-4-3 brought great victory
Luis Enrique's perfect plan has done well.
Barcelona needed to change something after their 4-0 battering in Paris and their struggle to see off Leganes at home, so Luis Enrique went back to the drawing board and came up with the plan which knocked Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League.
The MSN front three wasn't working, the midfield was feeling overrun and there were also defensive issues, so the Blaugrana tried out a 3-4-3 system, trialling it against Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Vicente Calderon.
Since then the team has picked up four consecutive victories, three of them with a five-goal winning margin, while the other was similarly impressive given that it came away at Los Rojiblancos.
19 goals have been scored in that time and just three have been conceded, with the system proving successful - even with the personnel changing at times.
Things are now looking up for the Catalan club, as they have a Copa del Rey final to look forward to, will be in the Champions League quarter-final draw and lead LaLiga, albeit with Real Madrid having a game in hand. The 3-4-3 and Luis Enrique made it possible, even if not everyone believed.
Results since the change in system to 3-4-3:
Atletico Madrid 1-2 Barcelona (LaLiga)
Barcelona 6-1 Sporting Gijon (LaLiga)
Barcelona 5-0 Celta Vigo (LaLiga)
Barcelona 6-1 PSG (Champions League)
